Sky+.....when recording a movie interrupted by an info advert, series link doesn't pick up the second part of the movie. Have tried a system rebuild but still doesn't work....maybe time go upgrade to skyq

Why is it that when a film is interrupted after an hour by an unnecessary sound byte ,the second part of the film isn't recored. This happens even when I have a choice of series link the film. It should therefore recored both parts , but it doesn't.....very disappointing.

Find out moreIf the film is on a channel that does insert a program in the middle of it then your box should record both parts when you record it via a series link option. It is difficult to say why this didn't happen so it might be worth doing a planner rebuild:
Press Services on your remote
Select Help
Select Sky+ Rebuild

we have seen this a few times lately, the only way round is to set each part individually

Is there a series link offered when you set the recording in advance ?

Yes.....the series link is offered. It works when series link tv shows which run for several weeks. It only happens when movies are interrupted with 5 min info commercials.

A series link for a film would be offered if the channel it was on shows a news/entertainment bulletin in the middle of the film so my question still stands, were you offered a series link for the film on a channel that does this ?

Yes series link is offered on movie channel

The next time you set a recording like this when you know it is recording look in the scheduled section to see if it has set the second part to be recorded.

Seen all the replies, none help, when setting the series link, then going to the second part shows it being set, but once first part is recorded it turns off the second part. So only way to record second part is sit there and wait for the first part to finish(not likely) Obviously if you try to set series link on second part prior to first part finishing all it does is turn it off. Been trying to get around this forever and foolishly thinking give it time and sky will sort it🤨

You can always set up a manual recording?

My understanding of glass is that one cannot record anything, explain the manual way for me please.
