Hi
We have Sky phone and broadband. Often during business hours the phone line goes dead and intermittant broadband.
Disconnected everything from phone master socket (ie. broadband router, rest of house wiring, etc), leaving just a simple corded line powered telephone connected; and still no dial tone and ringing it just gives engaged signal.
It is obviously something on the otherside of the master socket (ie. cable to street cabinet or even further up stream).
I am not aware of any OpenReach works in the area. Our local OpenReach exchange ID is NERD.
Please help.
Kind regards
Gary Partis

Hi caesarome
Phone line went faulty again at around 7:50am, firstly with tones incrementing in frequency then completely silent (presumably an alarm to inform that phone is off the hook). No amount of unplugging and replugging a basic corded phone brought this back into order.
Ran "broadband diagnostic test", and it passed; so, the line isn’t open circuit, just something simulating a phone being off the hook.
I suspect this is a OpenReach issue but needs Sky to instigate a line check, I believe.
Kind regards
Gary
